Phillip Hau is a Registered Psychologist with a rich and diverse background in mental health and in the field of sexuality and gender. Phillip is dedicated to continuous professional development and has pursued further training in areas such as Sexual and Gender Diversity and Inclusion Workplace Practices, Biochemistry of Sex, and, Science of Wellbeing. 

More About Phillip Hau

Phillip Hau is a Registered Psychologist with a rich and diverse background in mental health and in the field of sexuality and gender. He earned a double major in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Alberta, and furthered his education with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Athabasca University. Phillip is dedicated to continuous professional development and has pursued further training in areas such as Sexual and Gender Diversity and Inclusion Workplace Practices, Biochemistry of Sex, and, Science of Wellbeing.

Phillip has extensive experience working with clients across the lifespan. He has addressed a broad spectrum of mental health concerns including, but not limited to, mood disorders, trauma, self-esteem and self-identity issues, sexuality and gender exploration with clients across the life span. His clinical practice is characterized by a client-centred, strength-based approach that emphasizes adaptive coping strategies and celebrates cultural diversity through an affirmative and inclusive lens.

Phillip’s work extends beyond counselling to include comprehensive assessments for mental health, gender transition readiness, psychoeducational needs, and neurodiversity. He has also facilitated workshops on topics such as Creating Safer Spaces for Diverse Cultural Groups, Understanding Gender, Sex, and Sexuality, and Healthy Identity Development.

Phillip’s commitment to social justice and mental health is reflected in his approach to therapy and his ongoing efforts to foster environments where all individuals can thrive.
